The number of fatal crashes on Nova Scotia Roads has skyrocketed. The RCMP responded to 77 crashes in 2024 when the yearly average is usually 52. The Mounties pointed to impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and not wearing seatbelts as the primary causes. Police say serious injury collisions also rose to 180.
